What is a Certified
Hand Therapist?
The Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential is an internationally recognised post-professional certification in Hand Therapy. Awarded by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) in the United States, it is widely regarded as the gold standard in the field. It is held by only a small number of therapists worldwide and cannot be fast tracked or self-declared.
Beyond the qualification, Ms Razo is an active educator and presenter at clinical conferences worldwide, teaching other healthcare professionals including CHTs on conditions of the hand, wrist and upper limb. The knowledge guiding your care in Belfast is shaped by work and collaboration at an international level.
- Requires a minimum of 4,000 hours of specialist Hand Therapy practice
- Need to pass a comprehensive examination set by the HTCC
- Must hold a current licence in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- Internationally recognised
- Recertified every five years through CPD or re-examination
