Elbow pain that
won't settle.
Tennis or golfer's elbow, a trapped nerve, stiffness after a fracture, or a worn, painful joint: specialist Hand Therapy may help.
More than just
tennis elbow.
Ms Razo treats the full range of elbow problems: overuse tendon pain like tennis and golfer's elbow, nerve compression such as cubital tunnel, fractures and instability, and joint stiffness and arthritis. Treatment is built around the cause rather than the label.
Michelle provided an excellent and very thorough service to help me recover from an arm tendon injury from tennis. She was very supportive throughout and provided tailored exercises.

A proper assessment changes everything.
Ms Razo takes time to understand exactly when and how your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, what treatments you have already had and what impact it is having on your life and function.
A thorough hands-on assessment of the elbow, including strength, grip and range-of-movement testing alongside structured clinical tests, to identify the source of your pain.
Ms Razo will explain what she has found, what may be causing your symptoms and what the treatment options are. Many patients describe the clarity of a specialist diagnosis as a significant relief.
A personalised plan agreed from the outset, with clear goals and a realistic timeline. Depending on the diagnosis this may include progressive loading and strengthening, splinting or bracing, hands-on therapy and activity modification, with onward referral where needed.
Elbow questions, answered.
-
Complete rest is not recommended and may actually delay recovery. The extensor tendon requires a supervised rehabilitation programme to drive healing. Ms Razo will guide you through the appropriate balance of rest and activity.
-
The elbow is more susceptible to stiffness than most other joints due to the close-fitting architecture of the joint, the abundant capsule surrounding it and its tendency to develop heterotopic ossification (bone forming within the soft tissues) following trauma. This is why early mobilisation is so important. Stiffness that becomes established is difficult to reverse without further surgical intervention.
-
Mild to moderate cubital tunnel syndrome frequently responds to Hand Therapy management. Surgery is generally recommended for moderate to severe cases, cases that have not responded to non-operative treatment, and any case showing evidence of muscle wasting, as this indicates progressive nerve damage.
-
Mild to moderate elbow osteoarthritis can be managed non-operatively for many years with Hand Therapy treatment. Surgical intervention is considered when symptoms significantly impact quality of life and non-operative measures are no longer providing adequate relief. Early specialist input can slow functional decline and help delay the need for surgery.
