Ms Michelle Razo has been invited to take part in the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) 2026 conference, held at Engineers House in Clifton, Bristol on 2 and 3 October 2026 under the theme “Reaching New Heights”. She will join the panel for one of the conference highlights, The Great Debate.
The Great Debate: 3 clinical cases, 6 expert perspectives
Running for the first time at the conference, this inaugural Great Debate brings together a panel of six experts from across the UK to work through three clinical cases and weigh non-operative options against the surgical management of hand trauma. Rather than a series of lectures, the format is a live discussion in which each panellist brings a different perspective, drawing out where clinical opinion aligns, where it diverges and how those decisions are reasoned in practice.
It is the kind of question that sits at the heart of specialist Hand Therapy. When an injury can be managed either with therapy or with surgery, the judgement about which path serves the patient best is rarely simple. As a Consultant Hand Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), Ms Razo brings clinical experience from her work across trauma centres in the United States, London and Belfast together with a focus on evidence-based non-operative rehabilitation. She joins the panel as the sole independent voice, representing private and independent practice alongside colleagues from the public sector.

The BAHT conference is the annual gathering of the professional body for Hand Therapists in the United Kingdom, bringing together clinicians for symposiums, new research, practical workshops and free paper presentations.
